UI/UX Designer

Vangst is working with a client who has an opening for a mid or senior level UI/UX Designer. The UI/UX Designer will be our client's first Designer who will be solely focused on supporting their Product team. Working closely with our client’s Creative Director, CEO, and Product Manager, you will support UI/UX and interaction design activities focusing on all touch-points of their customers journey. You’ll make a direct impact in improving onboarding, activation, retention, and referrals.


Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers, marketers, and engineers; regularly conduct user research.Develop and conceptualize a comprehensive UI/UX design strategy for our client’s brand.Create highly interactive, delightful, and user -centered experiences.Produce high quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes.Contribute to and help develop the product and brand strategy.Participate in cross -functional brainstorms, discussions, and design reviews.Present design concepts to the executive team and understand business needs to achieve excellent results.Test and optimize existing user interface designs such as CTAs, banners, page layouts, page designs, page flows, and target links for landing pages.Regularly test for intuitivity and experience and troubleshoot problems.Adhere to style standards on typography and graphic design.

Physical Requirements

You have a good knowledge of CSS, HTML and front -end development… You won’t be coding but we believe it’s good to know the intricacies and limitations of the medium you’re designing for.You have experience working remotely.You have experience working with a distributed development team.You have experience working in a startup.You have experience working in cannabis.

7+ years experience as UI/UX designer in digital products / services.A portfolio of professional UI/UX design work for both web and mobile platforms.Advanced knowledge of the following technologies and software: Sketch, InVision, HTML, CSS (SCSS), Design Systems and Adobe Creative Suite.A desire to be part of a product team iterating and improving on the product day -to -day.A strong opinion on design but the humility to seek and incorporate feedback.A highly collaborative nature and willingness for showing in -progress design work.The ability to clearly communicate design rationale and conceptual ideas to a wide variety of people.
