The Staff Accountant performs daily and monthly bookkeeping tasks and ensures the general ledger is accurate, complete and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Manage cash movements
Help with AR and AP needs.
Reconcile inventory movements.
Download reports from multiple software sources and upload in accounting software package.
Reconcile credit card and Bank statements
Maintain fixed asset schedules and book monthly depreciation journal entries.
Amortize prepaid expenses.
Record monthly expense accrual journal entries.
Prepare and file tax returns; reconcile tax payable account to return.
Prepare and file property tax and other tax returns and license renewal applications as required.
Assist with the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including variance analysis.
Assist in preparation of account analyses and audit schedules.
Assist in providing data and supporting documentation to auditors and tax accountants.
Perform other duties as requested.

This job operates mainly in a clerical, office and retail setting and periodically in a manufacturing setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, photocopiers, scanners and filing cabinets.
While performing the duties of this job, the Staff Accountant will be required to regularly walk, sit and stand; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; reach with hands; and operate a computer and a calculator. Some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
The Staff Accountant may be required to travel between the office and the farms or production sites several times per month.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
One to two years’ experience in general ledger accounting.
Strong understanding of GAAP
