Senior Manager of Cultivation

Job description
CORE JOB DUTIES
Management:
Direct oversight of all cultivation managers including but not limited to:

Weekly meetings and/or check-ins with direct reports
Professional Managerial Development
KPI development and adherence
Bi-yearly review process
Aid in the development of weekly labor schedules
HR related issues
Ability to discuss all horticultural activities with general staff and upper management and the activities' implications on schedule and budget
Identification and project management of key facility equipment issues and maintenance
Clear consistent communication of current schedule and deviations to full staff and corporate offices
Inventory control and ordering of all consumable products
Coordination of all department actions with supporting departments (processing, facilities, compliance, manufacturing)
Ensure that all compliance or regulatory processes are completed and in-line
Strong interpersonal skills and precise communication

Horticulture:

Ability to build and/or drive new staff training programs
Horticultural guidance pertaining to transplanting, pruning and harvesting
Identification of bottlenecks in the production process and development of methods or facility solutions
Ability to diagnose common cannabis diseases
Familiarity with basic IPM practices and skills to implement effectively
Reporting of disease prevalence and severity
Ability to diagnose common nutritional deficiencies
Development and reporting of environmental and irrigation conditions
Reporting of production rounds including yield, health, quality and the associated key drivers of round performance such as pruning timing and techniques
Control of all environmental and fertigation equipment to maintain required conditions

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS

Mechanical Inclination
Experience with digital horticultural control systems
Experience with Excel
Experience leading teams of 20+ employees including middle management
Experience building teams (hiring/firing)
Excellent mathematical, language, and reasoning skills
5+ years in a horticultural management role, preferably cannabis
