In this role you will have significant autonomy and responsibility and will do the following:
-Ensures accurate and timely general ledger closing, along with supporting schedules, in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
-Prepare and present timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a monthly basis.
-Research and interpret relevant accounting guidance for new and changing business products and processes.
-Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and cash runway and act to minimize risk and prevent problems.
-Oversee all audit and internal control operations.
-Establish a collaborative quarterly and annual budgeting process that includes variance analysis conversations with leaders.
-Provide management with insights from other ad-hold analyses
-Supervise all accounting and finance personnel (internal and external).
-Ultimate responsibility for state and local administrative and tax filings
-Ultimate responsibility for timely customer collections.
-Establish and maintain customer credit policies that balance driving growth and minimizing risk.
-5-7 years relevant experience at a high-growth company (2-3x Rev growth per year; under 100 employees when you started). Tech-enabled SaaS, marketplace, or platform company is preferable.
-HR-tech is a plus.
-1-2 years of management experience.
-A high degree of integrity and ethical conduct.
-Direct experience with corporate accounting best practices and procedures, i.e. you have led the monthly close process for 2+ years. If you’ve been audited or formerly were an auditor, that’s a plus.
-Thorough understanding of financial analysis and forecasting.
-Able to work independently and complete critical tasks without supervision, yet able to communicate and collaborate effectively when completing bigger picture assignments.
-Excellent organizational skills and developing management & leadership skills
-Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal abilities with demonstrated relationship management with senior leaders.
-Exceptional attention to detail, while able to appreciate materiality
-Advanced Excel skills.
-Familiarity with Quickbooks Online is not required but is a plus
-Process improvement experiences is a plus
