The Sales Associate will support the retail store in assisting customers in the acquisition of medical marijuana, ensuring adequate delivery of customer-focused care and support.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Performing initial customer intake in the reception area and updating customer records and profiles;
Managing the inventory within the store by handling incoming shipments, performing quality control inspections, and completing any accompanying paperwork;
Ensuring accuracy of METRC and the secondary inventory POS tracking system;
Reporting discrepancies of inventory and dispensing errors immediately to the General Manager;
Following directions well and communicating effectively with customers;
Operating cash registers, receiving payment and recording transactions;
Performing data entry into internal reports and state/internal inventory tracking systems;
Accurately counting and weighing marijuana and marijuana products;
Performing daily, weekly, and monthly inventory, comparing physical inventory to inventory in the tracking systems, under the supervision of the General Manager or Assistant Manager;
Assessing customer records at the counter terminal, confirming the customer’s identity through scanning and visual confirmation of documents, and confirming the customer’s eligibility for purchasing marijuana based upon purchasing limits;
Providing customers with accurate information about currently available marijuana products;
Assisting customers with the selection of products available and providing advice based upon the customer’s preferences;
Ensuring compliance and accuracy of product packaging and labeling at the point of sale;
Organizing and restocking supplies to ensure smooth operations without delay, placing orders for supplies with the General Manager as needed;
Providing customers and prospective customers with printed information materials regarding marijuana and the services and products; and
Cleaning and sanitizing the store and equipment on a regular basis to ensure a sterile, organized work environment.

Job Qualifications:
Must be able to pass a background check (required prior to hire). Must have reliable transportation.
Knowledge:
Working knowledge of marijuana and local and state laws and regulations pertaining to marijuana in Michigan.
Skills:
Teamwork, customer service, communication, timeliness, great work ethic and ability to quickly learn functions within inventory tracking systems: METRC; and internal secondary inventory tracking Point of Sale (POS) system.
Physical Activities:
Physical aptitude and health necessary to perform manual labor tasks required for proper management of dispensary. May include: extended periods of standing, sitting, lengthy typing and reading, carrying or holding containers/boxes up to 50 pounds, and/or performing repetitive motions.
