Principal Planner/Scheduler

We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Principal Planner/Scheduler responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring products and components throughout the complete production cycle. You will develop and maintain the tools and techniques required to evaluate the financial and operational impact of proposed schedule changes.


Analyze data from the global demand forecast against supplier capacity to develop a master production plan.

Translate the monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) consensus plan to a detailed weekly master production schedule (MPS) with a 12-18 month planning horizon.

Satisfy the current planned level of sales, while meeting business plan objectives for profitability, competitive customer lead times, promised service levels, etc.

Manage work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems.

Recommend changes to improve the planning process for assigned products.

Evaluate and confirm materials supply is available to meet demand.

Determine inventory requirements and confirm stock positions are adequate for anticipated demand.

Schedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders and/or stock transfers to meet customer shipping dates.

Analyze inventory usage, scrap, and waste, and recommend any appropriate actions to minimize loss, reduce inventory, and/or increase inventory turnover.

Advise and assist management in resolving problems/concerns over shipments, shortages, engineering changes, and order cancellations.

At least 7+ years working in a scheduling or planning management capacity in a product manufacturing company.

Undergraduate degree preferred, ideally in a STEM or business-related field.

Excellent financial understanding, along with strong analytical, organizational, project management, and communications skills.

APICS CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) certification is a strong plus.

Proven ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Proven strength in critical thinking with the demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, and the ability to quickly shift priorities to meet changing demands.

Understanding of the importance of relationship building and effective communication.

Cannabis and/or packaging experience is highly desired.
