Office Assistant/Bookkeeper

Job description
Karma Originals is seeking an Office Assistant and Bookkeeper to work 30 - 40 hours a week, mostly at Karma Originals and possibly at other locations, as needed.
The applicant we are looking for has a strong understanding of accounting and is very well organized, with great attention to detail. The candidate must be a self-starter and able to plan their time, be highly independent, and at the
same time comfortable seeking assistance when needed. The ability to learn
new software tools quickly is highly desired. The ideal candidate must also
have excellent written communication skills since you may be interacting
with our vendors at times. As the Assistant Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for helping to manage and maintain proper financial records, closely monitoring and updating day-to-day financial activities.
Responsibilities

Assist with Accounts Receivable: manage sales receipts from multiple Field Sales Reps, managing customer cash and deposits, timely invoicing of vendors, and ensuring accounts are current.

Assist with Accounts Payable: timely payment of vendors and payroll, reviewing timekeeping done by third party, bank account and credit card reconciliations, communicate financial reporting to Tax Accountant,

Prepare monthly and quarterly reports as needed. Prepare year-end contribution reports for Profit Sharing & Balance Sheets.


Requirements:
2+ years of practical accounting experience. QuickBooks Pro experience a plus. Inventory Management accounting. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Understanding of GAAP compliance. Clear communicator. Meticulous and detail-oriented. Must stay current on cannabis accounting/finance laws and regulations. Must have valid OLCC Cannabis workers permit.
Education:
Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent field required,
Bachelor’s preferred
