Laboratory Technician

Job description
Disclaimer: Applicants must be 21+ and living in the state of Oregon in order to be considered.
Accurately follow standard operating procedures and method protocols for routine environmental analysis of cannabis samples.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Collecting samples (on and off site) and performing preparations for testing
Sample homogenization, extraction and dilution prior to instrument analysis
Analyzing test data and maintaining LIMS data base
Calibrating scientific support equipment
Operating computers

Knowledge of:

Safe and efficient laboratory practices
Various chemicals, biological materials and compounds used in environmental chemistry, and safe and appropriate handling techniques for their use.

Ability to:

Operate and maintain standard scientific equipment to conduct analysis for a variety of physical and chemical constituents
Keep accurate records; notebooks, bench sheets, equipment logs, and the LIMS database
Basic first aid, safety rules, codes, and regulations pertaining to an environmental chemistry laboratory
Obtain representative samples from customer locations using appropriate equipment and safety procedures
Manual dexterity and vision sufficient to manipulate laboratory glassware and apparatus, take readings, and record data
Establish and maintain professional workplace relationships
Sample homogenization, extraction, and dilution prior to instrument analysis.
Willingness to learn TNI standards and OLCC testing rules/regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:
B.S./B.A. in a Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or related field with 1 year of laboratory experience.
Broad knowledge of various chemical testing instruments (HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
B.S./B.A. in a Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or related field with 1 – 2 years of experience working in a regulatory cannabis testing laboratory.
