HR Admin

Our client is one of the largest retailers of hydroponic products in the United States and is engaged in the business of marketing and distributing horticultural, organics, lighting and hydroponics products, including lighting fixtures, nutrients, seeds and growing media, systems, trays, fans, filters, humidifiers and dehumidifiers, timers, instruments, water pumps, irrigation supplies and hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Great attention to detail

  • Helping with onboarding

  • onboarding people through Paylocity

  • Creating profiles for employees

  • Data entry

  • Run background checks through good hire

  • Emailing offer letters

  • Coordinating with managers on candidates starting

  • Processing I-9s

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately

  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to HR Manager

  • Provides clerical support to the HR department

  • May assist with payroll functions including answering employee questions, providing pay statements and/or tax documents

-Assists with new hire onboarding

  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations • Performs other duties as assigned

Experience

  • Has great attention to detail

  • 1 year of HR admin experience

  • Understands confidentiality in HR

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

-Ability to multitask

-Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

-Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications

-Associate degree in related field required or related experience

  • Prior related office experience preferred; Paylocity experience preferred

-Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
