Content Marketing Manager

About the role: Vangst is recruiting for a Content Marketing Manager to simultaneously deliver on the content & SEO goals for our client. We’re looking for a creative, data-driven, Manager to build a scalable and repeatable machine for creating, publishing, promoting, and optimizing content throughout our entire customer funnel. The Content Marketing Manager will collaborate with the client’s internal Marketing team; CMO, Marketing Director and SEO Director to turn content marketing into a key pillar of acquisition, engagement, and monetization strategy for our clients businesses. You’ll lead and manage the team that makes our clients content engaging and relevant to our existing and potential customers.

Responsibilities

Here’s what we expect from you:

Collaborate with our clients internal Marketing team to refine and evolve their content strategy across all customer-facing channels and content formats. Optimize existing content curation / creation processes for greater output and efficiency. Optimize the blog as a channel for lead-generation and conversion from browser to customer and from customer to brand loyalist. Oversee and help execute on content distribution and amplification activities; experiment with new tactics and optimize what works (you must be data & analytics driven in your approach to content). Assist in writing, editing, and optimizing promotional copy, blog posts, guest posts, press releases, email onboarding campaigns, customer service-related copy and other customer-facing materials. Stay on top of medical and recreational cannabis trends and knowledge, and identify ways to keep content sticky and fresh. Lead, manage, coach (and occasionally recruit) a brilliant team of writers, editors, and content promoters.

Experience

5+ years of content creation, amplification, and optimization experience across a variety of channels, and integrate SEO best practices. 3+ years managing a content team and editorial calendar, able to stay on schedule & meet deadlines consistently. Ability to adjust strategy and prioritize tactics in both resource-constrained and resource-abundant environments. Excellent managerial skills; you know how to motivate teams, identify & eliminate bottlenecks, and enhance productivity through new habits & routines. Strong experience working with a graphic designer to create rich, brand-building content. Strong experience with analytics tools and processes. Self-starter, highly motivated to succeed under minimal supervision. Experience with and/or passion for cannabis is preferred.
