We are looking for a Compliance Specialist in Clackamas, OR who embraces the Wyld culture.
The compliance department ensures Wyld meets and exceeds governmental and industry standards across multiple states. Primary responsibilities include researching applicable law, investigating facts, and preparing documents as directed by the Director of Compliance. In addition, you will track new and changing regulations as applied to existing and anticipated products and clearly communicate information to appropriate departments.
Duties and Responsibilities
Research, analyze, and accurately summarize sources of regulation, including applicable constitutions, statutes, regulations, articles, bulletins, and treaties concerning cannabis regulation in each state and at the national level.
Organize documents for license applications, renewals, and audits
Attend educational workshops, rulemaking committees, legislative hearings, and other public hearings affecting the cannabis industry to gather information on how any proposed or actual changes affect our employees and our business
Conduct facility and record audits, review compliance reports, and review operational activity to, summarize findings and coordinate and communicate pertinent information and changes with appropriate departments
Vet all SOPs affecting cannabis activities
Coordinate with Ops, Legal, Sales, Inventory, and IT Departments regarding any compliance questions
Analyzing licensing requirements for new states as directed by the Expansion Team when identifying new markets
Day-to-day compliance responsibilities, working closely with sales, operations, and inventory departments
Prepare, review, and update reference factsheets for daily use and review by Sales, Operations, and Inventory departments
Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in history, business, law or a related field is recommended.
Experience/Skills: 1-3 years experience in work of a comparable character, such as experience/training in research and/or writing or work as a paralegal.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft office, data analysis, and Google Apps
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Active state-appropriate marijuana worker permit.
Language Skills: Must be able to effectively and concisely communicate in English, both verbally and written, with impeccable spelling and grammar, organized sentence structure, and coherent thought.
Problem Solving: Must be capable of responding to rapidly evolving regulation, while providing accurate responses to day-to-day compliance issues.
Critical Thinking: Must be able to quickly research and accurately apply regulatory guidance to changing circumstances.
Math Skills: Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required between work facilities.
