Under the general direction of the California Director of Compliance, the CDCS ensures that the licensed divisions of the Corporation are in regulatory compliance. The CDCS functions as an independent and objective inspector that reviews and evaluates compliance issues/concerns within the assigned licensed operations. The position aides the California Director of Compliance in ensuring that all personnel are in compliance with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies and that company policies and procedures are being followed.

Develops, initiates, maintains, and revises policies and procedures for the general operation of the Compliance Program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
Conducts site visits, inspections, and provides detailed reports to the California Director related to violations and solutions identified.
Directs compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.
Responds to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and Standards of Conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures. Documents and monitors compliance/correction of violations. Aides in the review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance Issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.
Monitors, and as necessary, coordinates compliance activities of other departments to remain abreast of the status of all compliance activities and to identify trends. Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
Ensures proper reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate and/or required.
Institutes and maintains an effective compliance communication program for the organization, including promoting (a) use of the Compliance Hotline; (b) heightened awareness of Standards of Conduct, and (c) understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures.
Participates and leads compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers.
Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at the direction of management.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor s degree preferred
Minimum of 2 (two) years of experience in cannabis industry or related field
Familiarity with operational, financial and quality assurance
Project Management experience
Public Speaking Ability
Proficient English verbal and written communication skills.
Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to assist wide-ranging customer base.
Ability to communicate changes in compliance processes/protocols to Managers all stakeholders.
Ability to explain standardized operating procedures and compliance regulations to all stakeholders.
