Assistant Chemist

Job description
The Assistant Chemist job is to ensure that we are creating high quality and consistent products. This role will oversee and manage the Sublingual and Vape department and also help create new products.
Duties/Responsibilities

Come up with new Recipes and flavors
Prioritize and Drive R&D projects
Make sure work orders are properly entered into ERP
Ensure our products have proper shelf life and ingredients
Uses background knowledge in chemistry to inform formulation of Raw materials.
Keep logs updated: Prep log, compound sheet
Send out samples to Cannasafe for R&D testing to check work and make sure products are compliant
Send out Final round of samples to reps for approval with Product surveys and collect data on it
Collect Data on COAs from cannasafe to Dial in and standardize potency
Communicate with Managers to order any supplies needed and keep up with total
Work with Sublingual lead to Create scheduling
Ensure that team is on schedule to finish all projects by end of shift; ensure that each team member takes breaks on time
Ensure all timesheets are accurate
Ensure all labels and stickers for products are updated with the correct information
Work with Managers to deal with employee issues
Help create SOPs for new products and improve current processes
Communicate with Inventory to ensure the proper delivery of Raw Materials

Required Skills/Abilities

Must have Chemistry background and be able to use knowledge to create formulas and processes
Great communication skills, positive attitude, trustworthy, dependable, accountable for own actions, motivate team members, able to delegate minor tasks, and able to receive constructive criticism.
Must be able to provide minor maintenance and adjustments to machinery.
Must be able to time manage, multitask, organize, attention to details, and interpersonal skills.
Must be flexible and creative

Education and Experience

Science/Chemistry Degree
Up to date food handler’s certification
Preferred but not required experience in the cannabis industry, in leadership position, production facilities, or restaurants.

Computer Operations Abilities

Update Monday.com, Google Sheets, Excel and Telegram channels.
Basic personal computer skills including email, word processing, etc

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for 8 hours, leaning over and lifting bins
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Must be willing to submit to a background check with "Fair Chance Process" as a condition of employment. Fluency in both written and spoken English required..
MUST be age 21 or over - California residency with valid ID is required
